Fantasy Football: 3 Quarterback Streaming Options for Week 2

If you’re a seasoned fantasy football enthusiast, you know that streaming quarterbacks can be a game-changer. It’s all about finding those hidden gems that can deliver excellent value week after week. We understand the thrill of optimizing your lineup, and that’s where Odds Jam comes into play. In this guide, we’ll explore how Odds Jam’s insights can elevate your fantasy football game to new heights, just like these quarterbacks in Week 2.

The Quarterback Streamer Dilemma

Streaming quarterbacks remains an integral part of fantasy football for those who were willing to wait on the position in favor of loading up their lineups in drafts. It’s not always the preferred option as putting top-shelf guys in your lineup and forgetting it is always nice, but you can get some great value on the waiver wire each week to start at the position, keeping you competitive on a week-to-week basis.

Finding the Right Streamer

When it comes to streaming a quarterback, there are multiple factors in play with none being more important than the defense they’re opposing. From there, you can look at the situation they’re in, what they’ve been doing as of late, and more. All of this matters — especially when you’re trying to find points at the most important position in football.

Here are three quarterbacks to consider for your lineups in Week 2:

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

Week 2 Opponent: Atlanta Falcons

How about the debut of Jordan Love as the Green Bay Packers’ starting quarterback? Pretty, pretty good. The post-Aaron Rodgers era started with a bang on Sunday when the Packers stomped the Chicago Bears by a score of 38-20, and they did so on the back of Love and his stellar performance. The 24-year-old finished as the QB3 through Sunday with 23.0 fantasy points. Love went 15-for-27, totaling 245 passing yards and 3 passing TDs. He also rushed for 12 yards in the winning effort. His play of the day came on fourth down when he found Aaron Jones for a 36-yard touchdown. Overall, it was a banner day for Love, who now settles in as one of the best streaming options on a week-to-week basis depending on the matchup. Odds Jam can help you analyze Love’s potential for the week.

The Atlanta Falcons had themselves a good showing in their Week 1 victory, holding rookie Bryce Young to 146 passing yards and one touchdown through the air while picking him off twice. It was a good performance, but the Packers’ offense is far better than the Panthers. Assuming that Aaron Jones will be okay after injuring his hamstring and some hope for the season debut of Christian Watson, Love projects as a fine option this week with another strong performance potentially making the case for him as a weekly starter. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Week 2 Opponent: Chicago Bears

I know. I know. There’s very little exciting about Baker Mayfield in 2023, but he has the offense around him to be a capable streamer when the matchup is right. Just look at what he did in Week 1. Seeing that Week 1 saw guys like Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Dak Prescott finish with less than 10 fantasy points in their respective games, Mayfield’s 16.02 points were a winner in many ways. The QB11 finish against a middle-of-the-pack Minnesota Vikings defense demonstrated the offensive weapons that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers still have equipped. His 173 passing yards and 2 touchdowns won’t have anyone jumping for joy, but it’s something to build on — especially against the same Bears defense that was just rocked by Love and the Packers. Mayfield has been an up-and-down player all throughout his career — sometimes even unpredictable. However, the mindset for the Bucs seems to be limiting turnovers, playing good defense, and getting victories. If limiting Mayfield’s throws to smarter ones is the plan, he should be a fine play against the Bears for those looking for quarterback help. Mac Jones, New England Patriots

Week 2 Opponent: Miami Dolphins

It was just one week, but it was a really good one for Mac Jones against what is expected to be one of the league’s best defenses this season, the Philadelphia Eagles. After the disaster that last season was for Jones, the first two drives of the game spelled more disaster on the way as he threw a pick-six and Ezekiel Elliott fumbled the ball to give the Eagles some easy points. But after those two brutal drives, Jones settled in and looked like he did in his rookie campaign as opposed to a year ago — a good quarterback. Believe it or not, Jones finished his outing as the QB2 on the day, finishing only behind Tua Tagovailoa. That’s not bad company after what Tagovailoa did yesterday, and it’s all the more impressive when most can agree no one saw Jones doing that against the Eagles. No one threw the ball more than the Patriots signal caller in Week 1; he unleashed the ball 54 times under new offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien. 54. Now, they were down the entire game, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, but he made it work. 24.14 fantasy points is what you’ll take from the guys who went early — let alone you’re grabbing off the waiver wire to play for a week. Jones finished his day with 316 passing yards and 3 passing touchdowns, adding 15 yards on the ground. He’d have two more points too if his two-point conversion that he ran in wasn’t also called back. It was a good day for Jones even in the loss. The reason we are streaming is that Jones will play Sunday night when leading his New England Patriots against the high-powered Miami Dolphins. Miami allowed 34 points to the Los Angeles Chargers while scoring 36. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Patriots will likely have to try and keep up with the Dolphins, leading to another pass-happy day that should give Jones plenty of opportunities for points.
