Injury Alerts
While we don’t have to deal with bye weeks this week, there are still some key injuries to monitor. Jerome Ford‘s high ankle injury could open the door for Kareem Hunt to take the lead in Cleveland’s backfield. Keep an eye on Ford’s status. David Montgomery is likely to remain sidelined with a rib injury, and Rahmir Johnson is still in concussion protocol. Miles Sanders is nursing a groin and shoulder injury, but his return might be imminent. Nonetheless, Chuba Hubbard could be a safer option. For more fantasy football insights and analysis, check out theΒ Rotoballer YouTube channel
Must-Start Running Backs
- DeAndre Swift vs. Washington Commanders: Swift didn’t post outstanding fantasy numbers last week, but he faces a Washington defense that has been generous to running backs, allowing 113 rushing yards per game over the past six weeks. Expect a bounce-back performance from Swift.
- Isaiah Pacho vs. Denver Broncos: Pacho is coming off a quieter week but gets to feast on a Broncos defense that has surrendered a league-high 37.1 fantasy points per game to running backs. Pacho’s dual-threat abilities make him a must-start.
- Breece Hall vs. New York Giants: The Giants have struggled against running backs recently, allowing 24.9 fantasy points per game over the last four weeks. Hall had a bye week to recuperate, and he’s a strong option this week.
- Dameon Pierce vs. Carolina: Pierce is coming off a bye and will face a weak Panthers run defense that has given up 584 rushing yards and four scores over the past four weeks. Pierce could provide excellent value.
Running Backs to Sit
- Josh Jacobs vs. Detroit Lions: The Lions boast one of the league’s toughest run defenses, allowing only 7.95 fantasy points per game to running backs in the last four weeks. Jacobs may struggle to find running room.
- Aaron Jones vs. Minnesota: Minnesota has been stingy against running backs, surrendering just 14.92 fantasy points per game. Jones may see fewer opportunities in a pass-heavy game plan against the Vikings.
- Derrick Henry vs. Atlanta: Atlanta’s run defense has been impressive, as they are yet to allow a rushing touchdown to a running back this season. With the Titans considering trade offers for Henry, his outlook remains uncertain.
- Brian Robinson vs. Philadelphia: The Eagles have been solid against the run, allowing just 350 rushing yards to running backs and 13.91 fantasy points per game. Robinson faces a tough matchup this week.
Good luck with your Week 8 lineup decisions, and may your running backs lead you to victory!
